Things we LOVED about this wedding (in no particular order):

  1. The customized sign outside the church
  2. The extremely supportive group of family & friends.
Elise’s Sister was the most helpful awesome sister I have ever seen on a wedding day.
  3. Flags everywhere! Flags and an emphasis on where both Mark & Elise come from were
a huge part of the wedding.  Everyone had small US & UK flags during the send off.
  4. Elise’s dress, make up, & hair were frickin’ awesome!
  5. The best man’s speech was hilarious and heartfelt (and long).

The Proposal: How did it happen?

I was arriving home from a teacher conference in Chapel Hill, NC. I planned to go home and watch Kim Kardashian’s wedding (HA!) with my sister before she “caught a flight later that evening.” When I got home, I saw my sister’s car in front of my house and fully anticipated seeing her sitting on my couch ready to watch that infamous wedding that had just happened….but there he was! Mark! Tricking me! With so many amazing, beautiful candles, beautiful white hydrangeas, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne…everything romantic you can name! And guess what?…I FINALLY got to say YES! :)
