At LSF we have seen countless Wilmington weddings but no couple has taken advantage of Wilmington as much as Courtney & Kevin. As a lover of Wilmington I was very happy when I saw their risky itinerary. They started the day in historic downtown Wilmington at separate inns (Greystone Inn & The Tarrymore Hotel) then after a first look took private trolleys to Airlie Gardens to the Mt. Lebanon Chapel. The Mt. Lebanon Chapel is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the area and added a lot of extra charm to C&K’s wedding day. From Airlie they traveled back to Downtown ILM and enjoyed the crowded boardwalk.
At this point on their itinerary I was confused why there was such a big gap but then when I saw the footage I realized how genius that gap was. Now this may shock you but Courtney & Kevin actually took time to enjoy their post ceremony excitement. Courtney said it best when during the photoshoot she shouted “I feel so amazing right now” It was so refreshing to see and hear their newlywed joy. I was so happy they got to actually enjoy their wedding day and be present in the moment instead of pushing through the days events. They even stopped to relax with a beer before meeting up with all their friends at an outdoor cocktail hour.
The night was complete with special guest DJ and friend of the bride, Questlove. During the reception Courtney shared that Questlove had been one of her biggest supporters pre-engagemnet with Kevin. After C&K finally got engaged He promised that he would DJ their wedding…and he did! Giving C&K the most thoughtful final touch to a truly personalized wedding day. Overall, C&K found the perfect balance of a Modern & Classic southern wedding and created their own day that they will remember forever. I really don’t think their wedding could have been more perfect.
