Amy & Ryan – Wedding Highlights

Charlotte, NC

Josiah and I filmed this wedding in Charlotte, and I specifically remember telling Amy towards the end of the night how excited I was about the footage that we got. I also said that it was one of our best weddings of the year, and she said “Get out! You tell everyone that!”. No Amy, we don’t. :) But for us, what makes a great wedding and great footage is the couple we are filming and what they are excited about. Amy and Ryan were truly a pleasure to work with because their wedding day was about them. They threw a beautiful party and had some of the most entertaining dancing we have seen. But the emotions, and the looks we captured of them enjoying their wedding day together mean the most to us as storytellers, and I LOVED how much tunnel vision they had towards each other all day. They danced, they laughed, and they even threw cake in each other’s face! But you could tell that even if that stuff wasn’t there, it wouldn’t have mattered, and that makes for a great wedding film. The Ballantyne Country Club staff coordinated and designed a beautiful event. It’s always easier to film at a venue like that. On a side note: Check out grandpa! I thought it was GREAT that he was on the dance floor with the ladies surrounding him!

Thanks again Amy & Ryan, for allowing us to witness and document such a cool evening for you both. Friends, family and blog watchers, don’t forget to comment on the video if you enjoyed it!

Summer & Michael – Wedding Highlights

Charlotte, NC

What an incredibly unique moment Melissa & Amy filmed at this wedding! Summer and Michael, through dating and engagement, waited to kiss each other for the very first time until after they were declared husband and wife. I tried to imagine the anticipation that must have been building all day for Summer & Michael. You can really see how excited they are to be getting married as you watch the film and the day progresses. It was also very cool that Summer & Michael had nothing to hide in terms of their faith. Their ceremony was not only a symbol and a public declaration of their commitment to each other, but also to God. It was very humbling to see them washing each other’s feet, to show their promise to serve the other first, just like Christ did with his disciples.

They party kicked off and much dancing ensued! A very cool detail was the vintage Sun Drop and Cheerwine soda bottles. If you aren’t from the South, you are missing out on some VERY good soda…..or “pop”. :) On a side note, if any bride is looking for hip, down to Earth, hilarious, but very talented photographers, you need to check out Daniel & Candice of The Beautiful Mess. Melissa and Amy couldn’t stop talking about how refreshing it was to be around them and how fun they made the wedding day. That really does translate into better creativity from your photos and wedding film. Check out Summer & Michael’s wedding pictures from The Beautiful Mess to see their work!

Let’s leave some comment love people!

Sarah & Dan – Wedding Highlights

It doesn’t get any better than this wedding. Not only because I love the families, I love the bride & groom, and that Sarah & Dan are a perfect fit, but it was An Appalachian State Wedding! (My Alma Mater)

This wedding definitely ranks as one of the most fun, rowdy, good ‘ol parties we’ve been a part of. Sarah’s family had the best piece of land to throw a tent up and have a blast (w/ fireworks too). The colors, the people involved, the food, (candy station :)) and even the overall “feel” of the day were just right. Even with some early bad weather, and the cake getting knocked over (first time I’ve seen that), nothing stopped Sarah & Dan from celebrating the right way, with everyone they love around them. I’ve known Sarah for a long time, so it was a pleasure to be a part of her day. Sarah’s grandfather administered the vows, and writes unique vows each wedding he presides over. It’s also special that he married Sarah’s parents as well. You may notice some trendy neon glasses from the 80′s. They were a big hit as well. Thanks Mr. Eaker. Sarah also SECRETLY recorded (sang) a special first dance song and Dan heard it for the first time with they danced. Awesome! I’ll post soon with Sarah’s permission. Sarah and Dan even got on board with something new we are offering our clients. We had them over a few weeks after the honeymoon to film an interview session in our studio. It served as a bit of retrospect on the day while it was still fresh in their minds. It was so cool to be able to ask them detailed questions about how they were feeling and what they were thinking at some of the bigger moment of the day. I know they will cherish their answers later and you all will get a taste of it in the highlights film. I love how it turned out, because it makes it more of a documentary of sorts. It makes it more real, more personal and hopefully allows the viewers to feel more connected to the emotions of Sarah & Dan’s day. I’m rambling, so enjoy the video Sarah & Dan. Thank you for your friendships and for inviting us into your wedding day. I felt like I was a part of the family. Leave comments for these two everybody, let them know what you think!

If you are a bride and want to see more of this intimate interview session after the wedding we are offering in our wedding films, let us know!
