Ron & Amanda – a “Scottish” Super 8 Film

Wilmington, NC

From NC, to London, to Australia and back again. And so glad they invited us along for the last leg of the ride. 🙂
Amanda and Ron live in Perth, Australia but wanted to celebrate with friends and family near Amanda’s hometown and feel the Atlantic ocean spray on their face for their wedding day. Amanda mentioned to us that although our work isn’t typical and is very engaging, she didn’t want a normal wedding video. In fact, she enjoyed watching her parents Super 8 wedding video growing up so much, that she wanted to feel the same nostalgia for her own wedding film. As one of the few in NC who offer vintage Super 8mm, we obliged.
So much character for this wedding. If you ever run into Ron’s friends (the groomsmen) on the street, ask them to tell you about the bachelor party adventure(s). And if you run into Amanda on the street, you’ll have to let her fill you in on the rest of Ron’s toast to her (in the film). We cut it off after he says she inquired about “what was up” the kilt….one of the best toast bloopers ever. 🙂
Enjoy you kids! Thanks so much for being different and being in love so we could film this day for you!

  1. I am SO misunderstood!! The ‘what’s up in… Scotland’ pause was intentional, designed to get a response from Amanda, which worked very well, in fact too well, and led to non-perfect execution. I wish we had some footage of her off-camera reaction, as it was perfect and hilarious.

Great video Matt, thank you so much, Ron.

  2. I was woken this morning around 7am by my husband who brought his laptop to bed and I very confused sat up and said, “what are you doing?” and then Ron hit play and we watched the highlights video for the first time together. Once it finished we laughed and then watched it again!

When I finally got up about 30 minutes later, Ron had left for work I felt as though I’d seen the video in a dream and not in reality. Now fully awake I’ve just shared the video with my close friends here at work and am absolutely in love with it! It really captured the day and made use of so many beautiful words shared by friends, family and especially my fantastic new husband!

Each time I watch it I think I will catch a new detail as there are so many combined together! I’m very pleased to see that at least one of my many high fives from the day made the cut!

Love it, Love it, Love it and can’t wait to see the final film!!!!!!!

So glad we got the chance to work with you guys, it was a pleasure, almost makes me what to get married again so we can do it all over again!!

    Very happy bride, Amanda

  3. Wow! Speechless.

Have regained control and dryer my happy tears! Absolute perfection. Nicely done!
Best, Holly (sappy matron of honor)

  4. *dried, not dryer… My eyes were still perhaps a bit too watery for me to see and type properly. Xo, Holly

  5. Well that video certainly brightened up my Tuesday morning as it is pouring rain here in Scotland – wish I was back enjoying the sunshine in Wilmington.

  6. My family & Amanda’s family are friends. LifeStage filmed my daughter’s wedding Aug 6, 2011 in Greenville. We were excited to know that Amanda who lived so far away had found you on the internet to film her special day. We weren’t at the wedding but after watching it, I feel like we were. No one can capture the emotion quite like LifeStage. You do an awesome job!

  7. It really was that fun! How wonderful that Matt/Life Stage Films captured so well the spirit of these special moments celebrating life and love with family and friends! I agree with Brenda, so glad Amanda found you, can’t wait to see the full video 🙂

  8. Aye indeed; this video has certainly captured the spirit of a set of events that will always live with us all. Or in other word(s); FANDABBYDOZZEY. All the Best; Faither

  9. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I challenge anyone to watch that film without a massive smile on their face!

  10. Hi there!

Just wondering if you could maybe forward me Amanda and Ron’s email? or give them mine? I live in Perth and a package has been delivered to me, for them by mistake! just trying to track them down so I can get this little guy to his rightful home!

    Thanking you in advance!

Oh and P.S the video is AMAZING! you guys did a hell of a job!
