I’ve been wanting to use some new genres of music in my wedding highlights video for a while now, and Annie & Brian gave me the perfect opportunity because they love the “Avett Brothers” bluegrass band and so do we! Annie and Brian used this song for their first dance and it fit perfectly with their beautiful summer wedding at the Porters Neck Country Club and Golf Resort in Wilmington, NC. One of the highlights of our day was when the pastor forgot to tell Brian to kiss Annie for the first time as husband and wife. Brian quickly asked permission. It was hilarious! You’ll have to watch it in the highlights to see it unfold. The rest of the evening was insanely fun. I don’t think Annie & Brian ever stopped dancing. It made us wish we didn’t have to work all night so we could dance with them! It makes our job so enjoyable when we see that the bride and groom truly can’t wait to be married, not because they want to throw a big wedding party (which was amazing) , but because they can’t wait to start spending their lives together. We saw that with Brian and Annie, and you can really see the emotion shine through in their highlights video. Enjoy the video and leave some comment “love” to let us and Brian & Annie know what you think!
Here’s what Annie had to say about her Wedding Highlights Film:
“I enjoyed every second, I especially enjoyed how the sentimental version of the song was combined with the other version. I knew it was going to be amazing but I dont think I expected this! I can’t wait to see the entire video! Thanks again!”

We are excited to launch our “Coaching for Wedding Videographers” program and have finally nailed down the curriculum. It’s been in the works all year and we will be revealing more about it within the next few weeks. However, if you are a videographer you can’t possibly say “No” to our first webinar we are offering, because its FREE! Tons of great information on the nuts and bolts of a Wedding Video Business. We wanted to share some of our successes (and many mistakes) in the life of our business. We are airing this free webinar next Wednesday, November, 4th. It is featuring Matt Davis of Life Stage Films, and is hosted by EventDV Top 25 in the World filmmaker Chris P. Jones of Mason Jar Films. If you are a videographer and are serious about your business and providing the best possible product to your clients, check out what’s in store and sign up now.

Last month we not only experienced an incredible educational opportunity for ourselves, but we reached a major milestone in our business. We attended the 19th annual WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographers Association) convention in Orlando, Florida. It is the biggest trade show of its kind for our industry and it was our 2nd time attending. We thoroughly look forward to not only improving our craft in wedding filmmaking and raising our standards, but we have a great time catching up and networking with some great friends and talented filmmakers. But this year was a little different. We were invited as presenters this year to speak about some of our businesses successes in the realm of sales and marketing. Melissa and I shared the stage in front of hundreds of our colleagues as we broke down our sales process, and showed how we actually HELP brides in their planning process when they call. Our main point was that its “all about the bride”. Asking the right questions in order to help them find the right video/videographer. We appreciate the great feedback we received and made some great friends in the process. We were also VERY excited and humbled to receive another International Award for our work. They hold an awards gala on the first night for the CEAs (Creative Excellence Award). Its like our industry’s “Oscars” if you will. We won an award for our demo reel, and feel all the hard work paid off when we walked on stage.
Continuing our new love for educating others in our industry, a few weeks ago we also were invited up to Detroit, Michigan to speak at the Michigan Independent Videographers Association (MIVA). It was great to see a few familair faces and meet a TON of new ones. Ryan Koral, a very good friend and talented wedding filmmaker (Epic Motion) in the Detroit area put me up in his house, and we had a great time catching up, being goofy, and keeping each other accountable as we strive to both improve our films for the sake of our clients….you…The brides and grooms.
A HUGE thank you to our clients, for seeing something different and unique about our work, and allowing us to do what we LOVE to do.
