Josiah, our very talented cinematographer flew solo on this gorgeous wedding in Charlotte. I guess you could say he really turned up the “heat” on this one. (The fire department had to come to the rescue during the reception). I know, a bad joke, but it makes for great footage. See for yourself! We always love shooting in the Ballantyne area and Rogers & Gala always put on a top notch, elegant event. They always make our films look great. What a fun wedding this was, especially since half the family was from Switzerland! I think you might even see a Swiss flag flying proudly behind the bride & groom’s getaway cart. :)

wevaonlineWe are very thrilled to be headed to Orlando, Florida in a few weeks to be a part of an awesome line up of business owners & filmmakers at the WEVA (Wedding & Event Videographers Association) Video Expo & Trade Show. This is our industry’s largest and most popular trade show and we are excited to have the stage on Wednesday as we lead a seminar called “You Know How to Shoot Video, Now Learn How to Sell It!”. We will be discussing the proper way of going about business, which is being an entrepreneur FIRST, and a videographer SECOND. Our philosophy is if you spend money on all the latest gear or are a creative genius with editing, but don’t know how to properly convey your services to those that may want it, everybody loses. We will discuss and dissect our very successful demo which shows brides why and how investing in a video/film of their wedding shouldn’t be at the bottom of the budget. We will be discussing how we interact with our couples when they contact us, and the “experience” they receive that is not only different from any other videographer around but BENEFICIAL to them. We will discuss how we help them make the right decisions, speak to their emotions and inform them, NOT sell to them. We will discuss how putting relationships first both with brides and other vendors results in higher quality leads and referrals. If you are a videographer, don’t miss your chance to hear a great lineup of speakers at WEVA this year, and be sure to come by our seminar and learn from our mistakes & successes. We (Matt & Melissa) will also be a part of a “Spouses Panel”, an open forum of sorts discussing how to successfully work with your spouses without killing them! Should be entertaining. :)

We are also heading up to Detroit, Michigan October 7th to speak at the Michigan Independent Video Association (MIVA). Very excited to help others, spread some warmth from the South :), and network with some great friends.

Beth came on with us about a month ago as our new consultant and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her here. She will be our point person for our couples that call in looking for a unique wedding film, or businesses that are looking for web advertising with our sister company Your Best Sales Person. The Life Stage team you’ve come to love has just gotten even better! Jamie is doing a stellar job at running this Life Stage Team strong as Studio Manager as well. I like….my husband, beaches,travel, steak, potatoes, blue crab, singing, Pilates, any book by Janet Evanovich, cheesecake, animals, chocolate, clean sheets, and classic cars.

I dislike…feet, apathetic people, when it’s perfect beach weather all week and then rains all weekend, calculus, wearing shoes….

I like being a part of Life Stage because….it rocks my face off. I work with totally awesome, pretty laid back people who all like each other!
