Matt & Julie – Wedding Highlights

October 11th, 2008
Wingate, NC

Sometimes its nice to have a break from the hustle and bustle of most weddings, and enjoy a nice wedding like this, with Julie & Matt. The wedding day itself seemed simple, but there was such a powerful message throughout the day that kept resonating with everyone present. What was important to Matt & Julie wasn’t expensive decor, a 4 course meal, or a live band, but…marriage. A promise. And what marriage should be. What its focus should be about. It was a beautiful day! We got the chance to do a “First Look” with Matt & Julie where they got to see each other for the first time before the ceremony. Its always such a cool experience. After the ceremony, they both decided to have a few hours to just hang out, laugh and fellowship with all their guests, and then they were off!
I also have to say something really neat….the groom’s name is Matt Davis! Which of course is the same name my mother gave me. So, you can imagine how interesting it was to be filming their ceremony and hear the pastor say, “I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Davis.” Whoa!

One thing we always enjoy doing is becoming friends with our brides and grooms, and Matt & Julie were just so easy to get to know. Its encouraging when a bride and groom keep you informed after a wedding about what is going on in their lives. However, its not always good news. A few months ago, Matt found out that he had Chronic Myelogeneous Leukemia (CML), which of course came as a shock. I’ll let Matt & Julie describe their situation in this video that their church made to tell their story of faith through such a difficult time. It’s very encouraging and inspiring and I encourage everyone to watch the video. Please keep these two in your thoughts and prayers. Matt has been just amazing through all this and has been an example to everyone around him.

So, now that you know more and about Matt & Julie, and their wedding day, enjoy their highlights film! And remember, leave those comments people!

Nothing beats an Airlie Gardens wedding in the fall, in addition to having the reception in the tent underneath the Big Oak. Sara & Chris were actually looking forward to their wedding video for a longgg time! We met them and reserved their date back in 2007. We also filmed a “Love Story” video for them last May and had a blast hanging out around Wrightsville Beach, and on their boat. And speaking of boats, you might want to check out their very unique reception exit at the end of the video!

We hear a lot of live bands at receptions. Some are good, others need a little more practice keeping the crowd going. Sugar – The Band did not disappoint! They were one of the best bands we had ever heard! Everyone loved them and we had a blast being at that party! Salt Harbor Designs did another phenomenal job at creating a very beautiful wedding with along with Culinary Creations serving up some incredible food as always. Dan Rhode of DVA Photo also shot some great photos.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Sara is an alum of Virginia Tech, and her family are huge fans. Chris actually went to Univ. of Florida, but I swear we caught him struttin’ around with a Hokie hat on!

Enjoy the video, and let Sara & Chris know what you think by leaving them a comment. Thanks again Sara & Chris, for not only allowing us to be part of the best day of your life, but for your friendship that came out of it. We look forward to keeping up with you guys.
