Harker’s Island, NC

Couldn’t have asked for a better summer day on the coast. We spent the weekend at Harker’s Island, NC for this gorgeous wedding. The ceremony and reception took place on a family owned peninsula, and as you can see in the footage, the sun dropped right over the water at sunset. We included some 8mm film look in the video to show off the elegant and timeless “Southern” flare we all felt the entire day. Millie and Willis really knew how to throw a party, additionally impressive because of the 650+ people attending! The highlight of the evening for everyone was the extravagant fireworks display that definitely rivaled any big city’s show during the 4th of July. You’ll have to watch the video to see it! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Dara Blakeley and her photography team out of Raleigh. And the entertainment was one of the best bands we have heard in our career as videographers. There is no better place to be than Boone, NC in the summer. Jonathan is from Boone, and is an alumni of THE Appalachian State University, which was my school as well. We had a great time filming Jonathan & Jessica all over campus. The wedding was such an incredible gathering of friends and family from all over the country. We do want to warn you though. The song they danced to as their first dance is also the song chosen for this highlights video, and it is rockin! I have to admit, I was a little nervous the song would be too “heavy” but this is one of my favorite wedding videos of the entire year and the song fit perfectly with their personalities. We very much enjoyed working with Jonathan Burton and his pictures turned out great! The Turchin Center is one of our favorite places in Boone for a reception, and it looked incredible. Thanks J & J for having us as your guests. Enjoy the party and turn up to volume!
