We went down to Orlando to attend WEVA, the biggest convention and trade show for wedding videographers. As members of the organization and attendees of the convention, we not only learned more about our craft and were inspired by other very talented wedding filmmakers, we also came back with our first CEA (Creative Excellence Award)! With the exception of Florida, we were the only videography studio to win an award in the entire Southeast! We were humbled to even share the stage with so many other industry trendsetters from around the world and it pumped us up for what’s to come. We were a finalist for our “Love Story” concept video.

“Each year, WEVA invites members and non-members to enter their finest work in our industry’s most prestigious awards competition,” said Roy Chapman Chairman of Wedding & Event Videographers Association International. “The Creative Excellence Competition, in its 18th year, is once again open to all professional wedding and event videographers worldwide. It is a WEVA peer-reviewed competition and represents the highest awards honor in production achievement in our industry. There is always a new panel of judges every year, and each year brings a fresh opportunity for new productions to be honored. All videographers are encouraged to enter their best work!”

We met so many awesome people, but also had a great “vacation” at the resort as well as at Universal Studios. It was truly a turning point in the life of our small but important business that helps families creatively document their most important moments of their lives. It’s easy to get burnt out with all the weddings we see and edit. But producing a quality product, hearing the happiness from our brides and grooms, and going to events like these help us remember why we do what we do. It has nothing to do with recording a wedding. We will point you in the direction of other videographers that offer that service. We document your wedding day “experience”. We know that if we can properly film the small moments, the big emotions, the beauty in the details, and faces of everyone at your celebration, your wedding day movie will never lose value.
